Starting from November 4, OpenAI has made the ChatGPT Go subscription free for one year in India. Users can log in to ChatGPT and claim it from the “Upgrade” section. However, OpenAI hasn’t said how long this offer will be available.
AI has quickly become a part of our daily lives, and starting November 4, OpenAI is making its ChatGPT Go version free for everyone in India.
The best part is that the ChatGPT Go subscription will be free for a whole year. Interestingly, before this, Perplexity Pro had already offered its one-year free subscription to Airtel users, and recently, Google announced a one-year free Google AI Pro plan for Jio users.
Now, let’s see how you can claim your free ChatGPT Go subscription.
What is ChatGPT Go?
ChatGPT Go was launched in August, and its price is ₹399 per month. It is a mid-tier subscription plan from OpenAI, which sits between the Free and Plus plans.
With this plan, users get more advanced features, such as a higher chat limit, the ability to create images daily, an option to upload files, and long-term memory, which makes conversations feel more personal and smarter.
This plan is also based on OpenAI’s latest GPT-5 model.
How to claim ChatGPT Go?
Starting today, November 4, all users in India who sign up for ChatGPT Go will get the plan free for one year.
OpenAI hasn’t said how long this offer will last, so it’s best to claim it as soon as possible.
To get it, follow these steps:

- Log in to your ChatGPT account.
- Tap on “Upgrade” shown next to your name.
- Select ChatGPT Go and move forward.
- Click on Upgrade to Go.
- Select the payment method Card or UPI.
- Fill the Address and click on subscribe.
- Now enjoy ChatGPT Go.
Since it’s free, you don’t need to make any payment to activate it.
OpenAI’s first developer event
The big news is that today, November 4, OpenAI is holding its first DevDay Exchange developer event in Bengaluru.
During this event, OpenAI may make several announcements related to India. According to reports, the company wants to bring advanced AI technology to more people in India.
India has now become OpenAI’s second-largest market, with millions of users using ChatGPT every day.
OpenAI has also announced plans to open its first office in New Delhi by the end of this year as part of its “India-first” growth strategy.
